Floating Away

Just finished a 3 Day Juice/Soup Cleanse.

First off, I actually completed it and didn't die.   I needed to reset my body as I hadn't gotten relief from my headaches for over a month.  I thought if I restart and then watch what I will be putting down my gullet then I can know what could be causing some issues I have been dealing with.

While scrolling through Groupon I found this amazing deal on Jus by Julie.  I checked out their site and it was legit and had great reviews.  It is usually $125 for the 3 day cleanse, but on Groupon it was $59.00 but I also had a code to lower the price to $40.00.  (Shipping was $29 but worth the freshness of one day shipping from NY)

Side note, when using Groupon or Living Social always check for discount codes.  I use Retail Me Not and also Ebates, discounts and a kick back from my purchasing. If you are not using these site you are missing out my friend.

I started Monday and was looking forward to the amazing flavors that Jus by Julie sent.  Drinking my green drink on the way to work and was full until 10am when I heated up the amazing soup. At noon, another drink, 2:00 pm soup, 4:00 drink, and 7:00 soup.  Water throughout the day.  See below for the yumminess I had.

SWEET SPIN SMOOTHIE - You'll start the day with a Sweet Spin smoothie, which is loaded with healthy greens and Vitamins A & C. The addition of bananas, which naturally contain resistant starch, will keep hunger pangs at bay throughout the a.m. hours.
CHIA BERRY SMOOTHIE – Refreshing strawberries, pomegranate, lemon and agave with a serving of Chia seeds for protein and fiber. (FAVORITE)
SPICY POMEGRANATE SMOOTHIE - This is a classic detoxifying lemon drink with the addition of sweet pomegranate and a spicy kick.
SPLIT PEA SOUP - With almost 50% of your daily dose of fiber, this soup will put your digestive system on track and keep you full.
ROASTED TOMATO GAZPACHO SOUP – An antioxidant-rich "flavor bomb" that will thrill your taste buds.
PUMPKIN COCONUT BISQUE – This warmly spiced soup features roasted pumpkin.
RED LENTIL SOUP - This soup, seasoned with our secret signature spices, is packed with 10 grams of plant-based protein, to keep you feeling satisfied.
DETOX BROTH - This plant-based broth is packed with mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, onions, ginger & garlic.
CARROT TURMERIC SOUP - Turmeric has been used for centuries as a natural remedy. Enjoy it in this lightly sweet carrot soup.
BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP - Butternut squash, sweet potatoes and carrots come together in a delicious & cherished family recipe. (FAVORITE)
CARROT GINGER SOUP - This soup, flavored with carrots, smoky cumin and creamy coconut milk is super creamy.
POTATO LEEK SOUP – Creamy and irresistible, this soup indulges both your taste buds and your body's basic needs.

Confession: I did have a hard boiled egg on day 2, and a salad on day 3. My boss took me to lunch and I had to eat something, but finished the juicing that night.  I was getting moody on day 3, my filter was thin so it is good I work in an office I am alone.  But after the salad  I saw happiness again.

I hate to pee, like I get really annoyed, think this has a lot to do with my headaches.  Wait, pee and headaches? Yes, I really think I was not drinking enough as I would pee in the morning and then again at home at 4:30 pm and nothing in between.  So if anything I have realized I need to drink water through out the day to feel good and that I need to get up from my desk every 30 mins even if it is to pee.  BRB... got to pee
So in the 3 days I was down 4.8 lbs, I know that it will creep back on if  I am not aware of what I am taking in.  I did sign up for LOSE IT as it tracks what I am eating.  When I think of a day and what I eat I feel like I haven't eaten much, but keep track of it makes me see the handful of Goldfish that are in the break room need to be tracked.
ACCOUNTABILITY, that is what realize I need. Not so much from others, as I get a bit snivelly with them, but knowing what I eat and how much I am moving.  Apps are the best for me as I can't get mad or irritated by them.
So now starts the new eating plan. KETO.  Looking at the list of foods I can eat on it I feel like it is doable.  Some of the items I have to Google as I have no clue what they are.

So this is my next adventure.  I will post later next week about it. Off to find a fatty burger with no bun.

Not starting on a Monday

Fighting with my weight has been something I have dealt with for over 20 years.  After busting out 4 kids and putting everyone else first I have gotten lost.  I looked in the mirror and I was no longer at size 8 like thought I was in my mind.   My closet has clothes ranging from 8 to 18.  SHOCKING and super depressing. I am pretty active, more so then some of my friends.  I try to do things I think I can do in my mind yet in actuality I can't due to how big I have gotten and my cardio sucks...literally. I suck so much air hiking around SoCal but still make it, just way slower and dizzier.  A few weeks ago I put it out to the masses on Facebook about what worked for others and what other reccomend.  I got a lot of different ideas, input, and options that would cost me money.  I just am not sure I am ready to invest in myself just yet.  I still have some hurdles to jump over and my mind to get in a better place.  Hoping wit...

Self Love, Body Positivity, and Food Freedom

“Numb the dark and you numb the light.”    Brené Brown ,  Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead Why do we battle ourselves every day?  What are we hiding, stuffing, or avoiding?  This is something I am trying to figure out and have been for years (25 years).  I get it we all have a past, some a bit more complicated that have resulted in affecting others lives in a way that you may not have realized until it was too late, and now I see them challenged due to my choices they had no control over. I battle with the food issue every day, I know so many that deal with their craziness through other ways. Food Alcohol Drugs Phones Gaming Shopping Exercise A battle is a battle.  It is a control thing for sure.  My mind is out of control and food is my go to and comfort even though I feel horrible when I eat crap. I try to convin...
