Not starting on a Monday

Fighting with my weight has been something I have dealt with for over 20 years.  After busting out 4 kids and putting everyone else first I have gotten lost.  I looked in the mirror and I was no longer at size 8 like thought I was in my mind.   My closet has clothes ranging from 8 to 18.  SHOCKING and super depressing.

I am pretty active, more so then some of my friends.  I try to do things I think I can do in my mind yet in actuality I can't due to how big I have gotten and my cardio sucks...literally. I suck so much air hiking around SoCal but still make it, just way slower and dizzier.

A few weeks ago I put it out to the masses on Facebook about what worked for others and what other reccomend.  I got a lot of different ideas, input, and options that would cost me money.  I just am not sure I am ready to invest in myself just yet.  I still have some hurdles to jump over and my mind to get in a better place.  Hoping with eating better and not so much sugar and processed foods will clear the fog and crappy emotional feelings.

Knowing that we had a 3 day weekend I rallied hard, my carb, sugar, and salt intake was over the top.

How many Mondays have I started only to fail by Thursday... Ok, Tuesday to be honest.
So, I am starting today. Tuesday.

I decided on doing WHOLE 30.

There are so many sites and great things on Pintrest.
This is as basic as I can get it and understand it.

Many of you may know I have ADHD and am like a squirrel at times and trying to stick with something is difficult. I have a support system that I know will be there for me but not to the point of smacking the bag of Cheeto's out of my hand cause this will cause a me to quit just to be pissed.  (*disclaimer)

Small changes will lead to bigger and better choices.  This is my goal.

It really is a tough even just a few hours in because my mind is messing with me.  I am craving food that I know I shouldn't eat and my damn mind needs to get on board with me. Most of my day today was thinking about processed food.  I am thinking of giving my husband my ATM card so I am not tempted to go get street tacos.  I also have to remove my food apps, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Panera, Dunkins, and McDonalds that way I can't pay from the apps either.

I will hit on the moving/workout part later this week.

Before pictures will be taken tonight and posted 30 days from now to see how I did.

Off to drink more water (btw, I hate water and hate peeing) Need to change that mind set too.

  3. I'm with you, ADHD and probably about 40 pounds that could go away. I just started back at the gym today and started recording what I eat. Like you, I've been here before and then the squirrel ran by and I got lost. I also got lost taking care of everyone around me but not myself. It's easy to do and putting ourselves as a priority is probably going to be the toughest part. Here anytime you need to vent, talk, cry, or celebrate. Also happy to be a virtual workout partner (or we can do the NH-CA visit live workouts when we hit a big milestone...you know I want to see your kids!!!). Proud of you and glad you've recognized you deserve to be healthy and happier! - Diane
